After 25 years in corporate consulting — strategy, transformation, business development across more countries than I can count without a spreadsheet — I made a decision that surprised some people. I left. Not reluctantly. With genuine joy.
Because I had spent long enough watching the same thing happen, in different organisations, in different industries, on different continents: a clear strategy, capable people, serious investment — and then, somehow, nothing quite moving the way it should. The execution slipping. The alignment fraying. The leadership team working harder and somehow achieving less.
I was not tired of the work. I was tired of pretending the problem was the strategy.
The thing nobody puts in the slide deck
Here is what I have come to believe, after 25 years and a lot of honest conversations: what limits most organisations is not the quality of their thinking. It is what happens to human cognitive capacity under real load.
When leaders operate under sustained pressure — high stakes, constant decisions, fragmented attention, too much responsibility with too little recovery — the prefrontal cortex, where strategic clarity and sound judgment actually live, becomes progressively less accessible. Not broken. Just quietly overridden by the parts of the brain built for speed and survival.
This is biology, not failure. But biology left unexamined shapes every decision, every conversation, every relationship in the system. And no amount of better strategy changes that.
What we actually do
At Hahn & Loewe, we work where the system is stuck. Not on the strategy itself — usually that part is fine. On the living system around it: the decisions that are not getting made, the ownership that is unclear, the leadership rhythm that has quietly collapsed under load.
We blend systemic practice, strategic clarity, and NeuroLeadership — not as three separate methodologies stacked on top of each other, but as one integrated way of reading what is actually happening and intervening where leverage is highest.
The Leadership Reset is our flagship individual programme: three months, structured, combining CliftonStrengths, NeuroLeadership, mental coaching, and real-work application. Not more input. Restored capacity. Clearer decisions. Leadership that holds.

We start with a short, honest conversation to check fit and find the real leverage point. If you are curious, I would love to have that conversation. It tends to be useful either way. — Alexander
